Council action is requested to issue a purchase order for $69,842.12 to The Wilson Group for metal siding at the MO Model Railroad Museum Building for the Parks|Recreation|Tourism Department.

The siding on the MO Model Railroad Museum Building (formerly the National Frontier Trails Museum) has rotted due to poor design.  This will replace the rotted wood siding with corrugated metal siding.  The metal siding will prevent wood rot and last longer than replacing with wood siding.  The City is using the Gordian Sourcewell ezIQC contract MO-R3-GC03-051222-TWG.

Per section 8.06.004, Paragraph 4 of the City Code states competitive bidding is not required when purchases are made through a cooperative contract established by a government purchasing entity or cooperative. The cooperative bids used will have been established pursuant to RSMo. 70.220 or generally accepted governmental purchasing practices through the competitive bidding process.

Approval of this item shall authorize change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the authorized amount, provided appropriations are available.

The fiscal impact to the city is $69,842.12.   The siding is in the 2023-2024 proposed budget, on page 122, account number (0046062-5406), Equipment/Other Improvements in the Tourism Fund.  A budget transfer to move the budget from the NFTM budget (0046062-5406) to the Historical Sites Budget (0046063-5406-RRMO) will be made.
