Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to authorize the City Manager to approve a construction contract with Linaweaver Construction, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $1,050,787.20 authorizing future minor change orders not to exceed $105,079 and/or time extensions for the Little Blue Parkway and Jackson Drive Intersection Improvement Project (No. 112405).

Executive Summary:

There were 4 construction bids for this project:

 

Linaweaver Construction, Inc.: $1,050,787.20

Amino Brothers Co., Inc.: $1,055,781.00

Freeman Concrete Construction, LLC: $1,110,729.09

Mega KC Corporation: $1,153,385.00

 

Linaweaver has successfully and satisfactorily completed projects for the City in the past. Their bid is being recommended for approval of this contract.

Background:

The Little Blue Parkway & Jackson Drive Improvements Project (No. 112405) is a partnership between Northpoint development and the City with MoDOT to improve the intersection for expected traffic generated by the Eastgate development and improve the flow of traffic along Little Blue Parkway at Jackson Drive.

 

This project has been awarded the Governor's Cost Share Grant and will receive 50% reimbursement from MoDOT for all construction costs. 


Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $1,155,866.20. Funding for the Little Blue Parkway and Jackson Drive Improvements Project (No. 112405) is included in the FY 24 adopted budget, Street Tax fund (011) page number 183, account number 112405-C-7011-5406.
