Recommendations:

Staff recommends City Council approval of the resolution adopting the Truman Connected Planning Sustainable Places Plan (PSP).

Executive Summary:

Approval is requested for the Truman Connected PSP. The City of Independence and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) funded Truman Connected through MARC's Planning Sustainable Places Program.
Background:

Truman Connected will implement multi-modal improvements to major street in Independence. Its path begins at East of US 24 Highway and North Missouri 291 Highway, ending at Blue Ridge Cutoff and Interstate 270 where it connects to the Truman Sports Complex and the Rock Island Corridor. The purpose is to develop a concept for a pedestrian and bicycle route that will connect residents and visitors to public transit, neighborhoods, Independence Square, Truman Library, Englewood Arts District, Truman Sports Complex, ant the Rock Island Trail.

No fiscal impact from adoption of the proposed plan.
