Approval is requested for a design-build contract for the 2020 Intersection Improvements Project (Project No. 112006). The project will remove the concrete whitetopping pavement at four intersections and replace it with asphalt. The intersections are: Noland Road at Truman Road, River Boulevard at Truman Road, Crysler Avenue at 43rd Street, and Sterling Avenue at 23rd Street. |

A design-build process is being used to improve four intersections. McClure Engineering is providing the project engineering and Superior Bowen Asphalt Company is the project contractor. The four intersections are: Noland Road at Truman Road, River Boulevard at Truman Road, Crysler Avenue at 43rd Street, and Sterling Avenue at 23rd Street. This Council action will approve a design-build contract with Superior Bowen Asphalt Company for the four intersections. The project will remove the existing concrete whitetopping at the intersection. A special asphalt mix would be used for the intersections. The work includes some sidewalk ramp improvements, curb and gutter and sidewalk repairs, pavement markings and traffic control. |

Fiscal Impact:
The design-build contract would obligate $1,013,996.50 of Deferred Maintenance for the 2020 Intersection Improvements Project (Project No. 112006).
The Deferred Maintenance was funded by the debt financing approved by Council in December 2019. The annual debt service payments are paid from the Street Improvement Sales Tax fund and budgeted in account No. 6311- 5510 Page 92.
