In September, 2016, City Council approved a two-year contract with John Bardgett & Associates, Inc. to perform state legislative lobbying services for the City.
In August, 2018 agreed to extend the contract under the same scope, terms, and conditions for an additional two years. The contract is set to expire August 31, 2020.
Staff is currently reviewing proposals for a current solicitation for lobbying services. The Missouri General Assembly, at the request of the Governor, has a special session which started July, 2020. In order to ensure the City will have a lobbying firm engaged it is requested that the lobbying contract be extended an additional month to expire September 30, 2020. This will allow adequate time for proper review of proposals without jeopardizing a lapse in services from a lobbying firm.
Staff recommends extending the current lobbying contract. Bardgett & Associates has delivered acceptable services.
