Last summer, the Independence Advisory Board of Health and Jackson County Regional Animal Welfare Committee were tasked to review the current breed specific legislation in Chapter 3, commonly known as the pit bull ban. The two groups formed a subcommittee that examined the research and held a public hearing to assess current public opinion. The subcommittee drafted a report and submitted it to the two groups last, which approved it with one member opposed. |
