The Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce was created in November 2019. At the August 10, 2020 City Council Study Session a presentation was made to Council regarding next steps which included initiation of an RFQ for a facilitated listening session.
The initial listing was published through Public Purchase September 18, 2020-September 25, 2020. This listing received one response from Mid-America Regional Council. The listing was re-released through Public Purchase September 25, 2020-October 1, 2020. The re-release received one response from Ann Shenethia Manuel Consulting and Mediation.
The project scope for the facilitated listening session was outlined in the RFQ as follows:
- Leadership and Learning Development
- Data-Mining of organizational and operational structure as it pertains to Diversity and Inclusion
- Facilitated dialogue of the participants
- Aggregating the data and providing recommendations
On October 5, 2020 the Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce Sub-Committee met to discuss both proposals. It was determined that both organizations were qualified to perform the requested work. The sub-committee selected Mid-America Regional Council to move forward and conduct the facilitated listening session.
