At the direction of the City Manager, an inter-departmental task force has been assembled to work with community partners to explore Best Practices and identify potential strategies for addressing homelessness in Independence. In this effort, the task force has also benefited from input and assistance from the City Manager and elected officials. In the course of these discussions, attention has focused on a variety of strategies pertaining to Outreach, Services & Support, and Housing. This presentation will summarize the outcome of these community discussions and offer some possible next steps for further consideration. |
