Council approval is recommended to award the contract price agreement to provide ductile iron pipe and gate valves for inventory purposes for the Distribution and Construction Division of the Water Department to Blue Springs Winwater, Core & Main, Ferguson Waterworks, and Schulte Supply Co.
These inventory items are necessary to allow Water Department staff to conduct routine maintenance, make timely repairs and install system modifications to ensure the City’s water distribution system remains operating efficiently and continuously.
The Procurement Division issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Ductile Iron Pipe and Gate Valves on October 13, 2020. The ITB was published through the Public Purchase e-procurement website, which notified seventy-five (75) potential respondents; fourteen (14) accessed the ITB. Four firms responded to the ITB: Ferguson Waterworks, Core & Main LP, Blue Springs Winwaterworks and Schule Supply, Inc.
The Water Department is recommending multiple awards. The Department will order the necessary items from the vendor who is low on the item needed. These suppliers are all local and the Department has worked with all of them in the past.
