Background:
The City acquired the property known as Lot 1 of Ansley Apartments on January 17, 2020 through a Chapter 100 Sales Tax Exemption transaction. Having the City as the owner of land is the mechanism in Missouri to grant tax exemptions. Since the City is the technical owner of the land, all legal agreements that impact the property must be approved by the City.
Spire Missouri Inc. (Spire) is providing gas to Ansley Apartments located at 40th St. and Jackson Dr. Spire will need to extend a gas main onto the property to provide gas services to each of the buildings.
