Power and Light (IPL) uses aluminum and copper cable for new construction, capital projects, outages, work and other jobs to maintain efficient daily operations. The cable is an essential component in maintaining reliable service for IPL customers.
An Invitation to Bid was issued on November 23, 2020. Four companies responded to the solicitation: Arkansas Electric, American Wire Group, Anixter and Graybar Electric. American Wire Group and Graybar Electric are recommended for award. The bid tabulation is attached. IPL staff is recommending the two lowest bidders to help with meeting deadlines and ensuring the lowest cable cost.
The invitation to bid was posted as follows:
1. The City's website;
2. Public Purchase, the City's e-procurement system, notified one hundred seventy eight (178) potential suppliers, of which thirty seven (37) downloaded the bid documents and four (4) responded to the solicitation.
