Change order to purchase order 21000455, in the amount of $80,000.00 will be issued to Clinical Reference Laboratory Inc. (CRL) for Covid-19 spit test kits for the City Managers Department.

Staff is providing notification to the City Council of change order.

The City has received funding from the Mid-America Regional Council to conduct an additional 800 tests during the month of January for a cost not to exceed $80,000. The City previously pre-qualified three vendors to provide saliva-based testing kits and processing of the kits. The City is planning to conduct testing on Saturdays in January to provide these tests publicly and continue utilizing Clinical Reference Laboratory Inc. (CRL), a Kansas City area laboratory service provider, which was the first firm to become pre-qualified. CRL has experience providing this service, has provided fast turnarounds (average results are received within 24 hours), and has worked with City staff to quickly resolve all issues. The date for this service to be completed is February 2021.

An initial purchase order for $112,000 was issued in October. Subsequent orders to
replenish the test kits have been required since that time. Change orders totaling $784,000 have been issued. The next change order to be issued will be $80,000.  Total expenditure for the kits will become $976,000.
