Executive Summary:

The purpose of this ordinance is to appropriate funds for the one-time bill credit for all City of Independence utility customers.
Background:

Appropriation is requested in the total amount of $11,220,000.00 to fund the additional expense needed to cover the cost of the February 1, 2021 City Council approved Resolution 21-713 implementing a one-time credit for City of Independence Utility accounts.  There are 57,787 applicable accounts, which result in a credit of $193.82 to customers.
