1. Council action is requested regarding the application received from Manmeet Enterprises LLC, doing business as, Truman Mart 1; for an Unlimited Retailer of Intoxicating Liquor and Sunday Sales located at 11805 E. 23^rd Street S. This application requires vote for approval due to residential property being located within three hundred  (300) feet of the establishment.

This application meets the requirements of the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code.

The applicant is requesting City Council approval for retail sales of intoxicating liquors in the original package direct to the customer, but not for resale.  The applicant has submitted a signed affidavit indicating that this location will have alcohol sales that meet the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code.

Types of Alcohol to be sold/served: Various types of intoxicating liquor in the original package.

History of any liquor license at this location; if a new building provides a brief update on the construction:  A convenience store previously occupied this location and had a liquor license.  That store was removed to make way for a new one.  A liquor license was approved for this location in 2018 for the proposed convenience store and subsequently renewed in 2019, however that license lapsed in 2020 without being renewed.  The convenience store has not yet been completed at the time of this application but according to the applicant should be completed by late spring or early summer.

Location proximity to residential, park, school and church: There are no hospitals, churches, schools, or parks within 300 feet, however there is residentially zoned property within 300 feet of the premises according to the City’s mapping system.

Managing Officer Information and results from background check: The proposed business is a corporation whose only member is Kamaljeet Kaur.  She will also serve as the appointed managing officer.  The background investigation conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Ms. Kaur revealed he meets the requirements of the Alcoholic Beverages code.
