Background:

Hawthorne Associates, POAH Communities, and the City of Independence are parties to a Memorandum of Understanding for the provision of enhanced police services at Hawthorne Place Apartments. The effective terms of the Memorandum are from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. Under the terms of the Memorandum, the City of Independence assigns two full-time police officers to this site. Hawthorne Associates provides office space for these two police officers at no cost to the City of Independence.

Hawthorne Associated L. P. agrees to be responsible for an amount not to exceed $109,023.00.

Fiscal Impact:

The City will be reimbursed up to $109,023.00 for expenses while working on this project.  The expenses will be from the Police Community Service budget (002-4539) and the increase will be included in the next quarterly budget appropriation.
