IPL staff will make a presentation on the Winter Storm event of February 2021, addressing the events leading up to the implementation of Load Shedding across the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) region and it's impact on Independence Power and Light (IPL) operations. |

The Winter Storm event of February 2021 was an historic cold weather event that resulted in SPP declaring mandatory Load Shedding, temporary power interruptions, for the first time in SPP's experience. Several factors contributed to the emergency conditions, including the severe cold temperatures, fuel supply shortages, and unplanned outages of generation resources across the region. IPL staff responded proactively, together with our regional partnerships, to support SPP's emergency operations throughout the crisis. |
