Staff has worked with the FOP negotiating committee over the past several months to develop a three-year agreement effective July 1, 2021. |

Last fiscal year, the FOP agreed to extend the expiring agreement for a period of one-year with 0 percent wage adjustments.
Provisions of the new agreement include the following:
- 3 percent wage adjustments for Police Officer and Sergeant positions in Year 1, 2 percent in Years 2 and 3.
- New wage table and line of progression for Crime Scene Investigators.
- 2 percent wage adjustments for all other positions in Years 1-3.
- New sick leave payout program for new hires and those with less than 10 years of service that elect to opt-in where the City would make an annual contribution to a 401a account in lieu of sick leave payouts upon separation from the City.
- Enhanced flexibility to hire new employees with previous experience in the same classification at higher levels in the step system.
- Miscellaneous operational provisions.

Fiscal Impact:
This fiscal impact is projected to be $2,380,000 over the three-year term, representing a 15 percent increase over the 2020-21 forecast.
