In April 2020 the City Council passed an ordinance to enter into a Cost Share Agreement with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission that outlined the responsibilities of the Commission and the City with respect to design, right-of-way acquisition, construction, and construction inspection of the US 24 Cost Share Project Phase 1 (Project No. 111801) from MO 291 to River Blvd. The agreement also outlined responsibility with respect to the funding of the improvements. Since entering the initial agreement, the design of the project progress with a more accurate estimate determined for the anticipated costs the City will be responsible for to complete the project. The Commission’s Cost Share Committee met again to consider additional funding obligation.
This supplemental agreement will establish the revised funding obligation of the City, totaling $1,585,578. Payment to the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission is required no later than 5 days prior to the project being advertised for bid. The anticipated bid date for the project is September 1, 2022, requiring payment to the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission no later than August 25, 2022.
