Winter Storm URI Questions

Executive Summary:

At the April 19, 2021 City Council Meeting, the City Council took action to temporarily  suspend the increase to the Fuel Cost Adjustment resulting from fuel and purchased power costs associated with Winter Storm URI in February. City staff has reviewed existing purchase power agreements (PPA) and determined requirements have been met. The City Council directed staff to engage legal counsel to review the PPA's and other relevant agreements. To ensure efficiency in the legal review, staff is seeking further feedback from City Council as to the areas in which legal counsel should focus time and resources. 

 

Staff has also drafted responses to the questions posed at the April 19, 2021 City Council Meeting which are included in this agenda item.
