Background:
The proposed ordinance would expand the mission of the Commission to include a broader definition of diversity pursuant to the recommendations of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Task Force. On May 3, 2021, the Commission on Human Relations voted to recommend to the City Council this amendment to Article 28 of Chapter 1 of City Code. The amendment is consistent with the direction expressed by the City Council when it passed Ordinance 19195, which merged the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force with the Commission on Human Relations. |
