National Parks Service (NPS) Trails Strategy Concept Plan grant provides funding to purchase and install new signs along the NPS Trails Retracement corridor. This pilot project will fund various directional/informational and interpretative signs.
The National Parks Service (NPS) provided a grant totaling $15,000 as a pilot project to purchase and install new signs as part of the NPS trails retracement project.
As part of the NPS initiative to retrace the national historic trails in the Kansas City metro area, the NPS developed a pilot project to help start adding signage, including interpretative signs to the historic trails in the City. Funding will pay for the installation of various informational/directional signs, identifying where the trail runs and interpretative signage to highlight the City's impact with the national historic trails.
The fiscal impact to the City is up to $15,000.00. Expense for the National Historic Trails Retracement pilot project will be paid from an NPS grant covered through their grant program and administered by the Mid-America Regional Council.
