The Health Department has been provided an opportunity to receive supplemental funding for the Missouri's Maternal Child Health Services Program Grant. This grant will provide for the reimbursement of qualified staffing expenses up to $62,918 from February 1, 2021, through January 31, 2024.
The City received notification regarding this grant opportunity in May. These grant funds were made available to allow the department to be reimbursed for COVID-19 vaccination clinic costs and any future adult immunization clinics that may be held.
Council approval of this consent agenda item will provide for the opportunity for reimbursement of qualified staff expenses for the City of Independence. There are no matching funds required for this grant. |

Fiscal Impact:
There are no matching funds required for this grant. The Health Department budget will be increased by $62,918 for this grant on the next quarterly supplemental budget appropriation presented by the Finance and Administration Department.
