Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to the Community Services League, in the amount of $60,000.00, for the I-Share Program.

The I-Share program has been in existence for over 20 years. The program pays the customer’s utility bill as a one-time assistance. This helps assist customers to pay their utility bills and keep their power on.

Eligibility requirements are:
• Income cannot exceed 150% of the Federal Poverty Level;
• Customer must be utility account owner;
• Customer is eligible for I-Share assistance once a year.

The program is administered by Community Services League (CSL). The funds that are donated to the I-Share program are matched by the Independence Power and Light Department up to $60,000.

The fiscal impact to the City is $ 60,000. Funding for I-Share program is included in the 2021-2022 adopted budget, page number 169, account number 6520.5240.93010030.
