Power and Light (IPL) uses steel and aluminum poles for street lighting to illuminate the way for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.
An Invitation to Bid for steel and aluminum poles was issued on June 18, 2021. The ITB was published on the City’s website through Public Purchase, the City’s e-bidding provider, to one hundred twenty nine (129) potential providers of this commodity, of which, forty nine (49) downloaded the bid documents.
Two firms responded to the solicitation: Fletcher-Reinhardt Company and Wesco Distribution. Fletcher-Reinhardt and Wesco Distribution agreed to the City’s Terms and Conditions and are recommended for award. Awarding to both vendors allows IPL to have options when lead times fluctuate.

Fiscal Impact:
The fiscal impact to the City is $150,000.00. Funding for the steel and aluminum poles is included in the fiscal year 2021-2022 adopted budget, page number 174, account number 6122.5314.1370.
