| | | | | | | | Background:
The Cable Dahmer Arena is set to host an National Hockey League (NHL) preseason hockey game on October 2, 2021. This item will provide for an upgrade of the hockey glass at the Cable Dahmer Arena in order to meet NHL standards. The current glass was originally installed when the building was constructed and does not meet the requirements for NHL hockey games.
This project was approved by the Independence Events Center CID Board on July 30, 2021 as part of the FY 21/22 revised capital projects budget. All funding for the project will be paid for from CID funds.
Athletica Sports Systems is the vendor who is providing this glass for the Cable Dahmer Arena. They are an authorized reseller per NHL Hockey Operations.
