Purchase order 22000182, in the amount of $142,795.00 was issued to Athletica Sports Systems for the ice deck (ice covering) at the Cable Dahmer Arena for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.

Staff is providing notification to the City Council of this purchase.

On August 2, 2021 a purchase order was issued to Athletica Sports Systems for an ice deck (ice covering) for the Cable Dahmer Arena. This item provides for the replacement of the insulated floor at the Cable Dahmer Arena. During the hockey season the insulated floor (also known as ice deck or arena deck) is used to cover the ice on the floor when other events need to take place in between hockey games. These other events such as family shows, sporting events and concerts require a solid, non-slick surface other than ice. The insulated floor allows for the ice to stay in place providing for a quicker turn-around between events. The arena deck was originally purchased when the building was constructed and is due for replacement.

This project was approved by the Independence Events Center CID Board on March 5, 2021 as part of the FY 21/22 capital projects budget. All funding for the project will be paid for from CID funds.

 

The fiscal impact to the City is $142,795.00. The funding for this project is included in the IEC CID FY 21/22 budget.
