Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to Watchmen Security Services, LLC, in the amount of $65,000.00 for the Security System Upgrade project at the Cable Dahmer Arena for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department.

This item will provide for an upgrade to the security system at the Cable Dahmer Arena. The current security system needs to be upgraded and expanded in order to keep the system and equipment up to date.

This project was approved by the Independence Events Center CID Board on March 5, 2021 as part of the FY 21/22 capital projects budget. All funding for the project will be paid for from CID funds.

The contractor for this project, Watchmen Security Services, LLC, was the contractor who set up the original security system for the arena. They were selected for this upgrade because they would provide cameras that are compatible with the current system.

Approval of this item shall authorize change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount for each order, provided appropriations are available.

The fiscal impact to the City is $65,000.00. The funding for this project is included in the Independence Events Center Community Improvement District (CID) FY 21/22 adopted budget, Fund 045. The Events Center CID budget went to Council 3/15/21 as an Information Item.
