Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to authorize the City Manager to approve a construction contract with SHEDIGS IT, LLC for an amount not to exceed $278,924.00, authorizing future minor change orders not to exceed $27,800.00 and/or time extensions for the Bison Park Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project. (No. 302003).
Recommendations:

Approval of this request is recommended.

Background:

Bison Park Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project (No. 302003) removes unstable fill from a failed slope and relocates an existing gravity main to stabilize the slope and mitigate against future slope degradation.

 

There were 6 construction bids for this project:

 

SHEDIGS IT LLC: $278,924

Linaweaver Construction, Inc: $280,445

MegaKC Corporation: $285,390

Blue Moon Hauling LLC: $320,253.33

Infrastructure Solutions, LLC: $430,082

Louie & Sons Excavating: submitted incomplete bid form

 

Engineers Estimate:  $ 321,685

 

SHEDIGS IT LLC has successfully completed other construction contracts for the city. Their bid is being recommended for approval of this contract.


Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $306,724. Bison Park Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project. (No. 302003) is included in the FY 2022 adopted budget, page number 146, account number 7011-5406.

 

This project is eligible for FEMA pre-disaster mitigation grant funding. All eligible costs will be reimbursed at 75% federal funds. The City is responsible for the 25% non-federal match.
