Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to authorize the City Manager to approve an evaluation services contract with Xylem for an amount not to exceed $93,000.00, authorizing future minor change orders for an amount not to exceed $32,000, for the Force Mains Evaluation Services for Rock Creek and Sugar Creek Pump Stations.
Recommendations:

Approval of the request is recommended.
Background:

The existing force mains for the sanitary sewer pump stations (Rock Creek and Sugar Creek) are over 40 years old.  Both stations have no redundancy in case either of these force mains fail or are out of commission.  The proposed evaluation will determine if any interior degradation of the pipe is occurring, helping staff determine what potential repairs and plan for future upgrades.  Pending the results, additional engineering services may be necessary and will be addressed with future change order processes.

 

Two firms participated in the request for proposals (RFP) process.  Xylem was the successful firm.



Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $125,000. Funding for this project is included in the FY20-21 adopted budget for professional services on pages 82 & 85. The current account numbers for this funding are 5230-6226 and 5201-6226.
