Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to Landmark Dodge, for the $446,345.25 purchase of (15) 2022 Dodge Police Chargers for the Police Department.

Recommendations:

Council action to issue a purchase order.

Background:

These 15 vehicles will replace older unmarked vehicles (used in administrative and call-out capacities) in the police fleet that are reaching end of service for police use. They will be police rated vehicles so they can be rotated into patrol or other front line assignments if needed in the future.

The vendor providing the equipment is Landmark Dodge, who provided a quote based on a Mid-America Council of Public Procurement (MACPP) cooperative contract. Purchases under cooperative agreements are authorized by Section 8.06.004, Paragraph 5, of the Independence City Code, which states that when cooperative bids or contracts are used, they will first have been established pursuant to generally accepted governmental purchasing practices and the competitive bidding process.



Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $446,345.25. Funding is included in the fiscal year 2021/22 adopted budget, budget book page 156, account numbers E (4564-5404).
