Background:

The Independence Events Center Community Improvement District (the District) was established on December 20, 2007 under the Missouri Community Improvement District Act, sections67.1401 to 67.1571 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. The District was created to levy taxes for the purpose of funding the public improvements and services within the District.

 

The District was established to be governed by a five member board, of which three are City employees appointed by the City Council. All renewal terms are four years.
