The Fire Department, as part of their Capital Replacement program will be replacing and Aerial apparatus, for one that will meet its replacement time within a few years. The estimated time for the new aerial build will be 18 months or more. The existing aerial will then become a dependable reserve aerial. Aerial Apparatus life is generally 13-15 years front-line and an additional 5 years reserve.
The replacement was scheduled and budgeted for this year, however, labor cost and material cost issues have increase the price several times since budgeting. ARPA funds have been approved by council to make up the difference.
