The Water Department has a continuous need and supply for fire hydrants and appurtenances.
The Procurement Division issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for fire hydrants on September 28, 2021. The ITB was published on the City's website through Public Purchase, the City's e-bidding provider, which notified 41 potential bidders; 5 accessed the ITB.
Four (4) bids were received: Blue Springs Winwaterworks, Core & Main LP, Ferguson Waterworks, Inc and Schulte Supply. Ferguson Waterworks, Inc. provided the lowest bid. Ferguson is a local company and based their bid on a fire hydrant that meets the specifications that were provided in the Invitation to Bid. The Water Department recommends award of a contract for the purchase of fire hydrants to Ferguson Waterworks, Inc.
