On September 7, 2021, the City Council approved UDO Amendment #48 implementing a new Special Sign Permit application process for signs that deviate from the UDO requirements.
This approved process utilizes the Planning Commission. One of the core principles of the Planning Commission is to guide land use and development within the city. The Planning Commission also considers how those land uses impact citizens and business owners within the subject area. Considering these factors, it is staff’s belief that applications for variances from sign regulations are better suited for Planning Commission consideration.
The new permit application fee of $400 for Special Sign Permits will be assessed through the Development Services Division of Community Development.
The change recommended would add:
V. Planning and Zoning Application
V. Special Sign Permit application $400.00
