Council action is requested to issue a purchase order for $80,103.50 to Avo Multi-Amp Corp, dba Megger for a Relay Test Set for substation electrical systems for the Power & Light Department.

This recommend purchase is for a relay test set that allows the Power & Light Department to test all of the relays in all substations. This would be used for maintenance of all North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance tests. Purchasing the test set would enable the Department to ensure relays are operating properly and in safe condition.

The supplier, Megger, is the sole provider of this item. Power & Light also has software which is compatible with this product.

Approval of this item shall authorize change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the authorized amount for each order, provided appropriations are available.

The fiscal impact to the City is $80,103.50. $80,000 of the funding is included in the 2021-22 adopted budget, page 199, account number 7020.5406.202204. The remaining $103.50 would be accommodated through the next Finance Department supplemental ordinance.
