Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to enter into a three year Microsoft license agreement and issue a purchase order to SHI International, in the amount of $49,082 for Microsoft Licensing.
Recommendations:

Council action to issue purchase order and enter into three year agreement.
Background:

The City of Independence is in need of purchasing Microsoft server licensing.  This licensing allows the City to install Windows Server operating systems on City servers.  This is a three year licensing agreement.

 

The licenses will be purchased from SHI International.  The contract that this will be purchased off of is Omnia Partners - IT Solutions 2018011-02.  Per section 8.06.004, Paragraph 4 of the City Code states competitive bidding is not required when purchases are made through a cooperative contract established by a government purchasing entity or cooperative. The cooperative bids used will have been established pursuant to RSMo. 70.220 or generally accepted governmental purchasing practices through the competitive bidding process.

 

Approval of this item shall authorize change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the authorized amount for each order, provided appropriations are available. 


Fiscal Impact:

This expenditure is a budgeted item in the FY 21/22 budget.
