Approval is requested for a purchase order and construction contract with Wiedenmann Inc. for the Emergency Construction Projects (No. 131802) utilizing the Lee's Summit Cooperative Agreement, as per Section 8.06.004 of the City Code. This project involves emergency repairs to a failed stormwater pipe at the intersection of 9th Street and Winner Road. |

City Staff responded to a a complaint of bank sloughing under Winner Road south of the 9th Street intersection. Attempts to televise the pipe were unsuccessful due to blockage from collapse.
Municipal Services crews have temporarily stabilized the bank, but pipe failure will continue to undermine the road and will soon present an imminent threat to both traffic and the environment if the sewer main ruptures.
Wiedenmann, Inc. has completed various stormwater projects successfully for the City and their quote has been reviewed and recommended to approve. The cooperative agreement is based on actual time and materials used and will be documented with inspection. |

Fiscal Impact:
The fiscal impact to the City is $274,702. Funding for Emergency Construction Projects (No. 131802) is included in the FY 22-23 proposed budget, page number 141, account number 7013-5406.
