Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to issue a one (1) year contract, with two (2), one-year renewal periods for Sidewalk and Curb Repair with Downey Construction, Inc. for the Municipal Services, Water and Power & Light Departments.

Recommendations:

Council approval to issue a contract.

Background:

The Municipal Services Department is the primary user of this services and is responsible for ensuring a safe and smooth walking surface for pedestrian traffic. This agreement is for City funded sidewalk and curb projects.

The Procurement Division issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Sidewalk and Curb Repair was issued on June 8, 2022. The ITB was published on the City's website through Public Purchase, the City's e-bidding provider, which notified 194 potential bidders; 10 accessed the ITB.

Four firms responded to the solicitation: Callahan Concrete & Asphalt Construction LLC, Downey Construction, Inc (Downey), Precision Construction and Contracting, LLC and SHEDIGS IT LLC. Downey was the lowest, responsive bidder and has provided this service for several years for the City. Staff recommends a contract award to Downey.



Fiscal Impact:

Funding is included in the 2022-23 adopted budget. Account codes for the departments are:
