Council action is requested regarding the change in ownership application received from Midas Independence LLC, for Retail Selling of Malt Liquor and Wine by the Drink license for the Staybridge Suites located at 19400 E. 39th Place. 

This application meets the requirements of the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code.

The applicant is requesting City Council approval of a change of ownership for Staybridge Suites to continue selling malt liquor and wine by the drink.  The applicant intends to serve beer and wine during their evening socials.  There will be no serving of alcohol outside of the evening social hours.

History of any liquor license at this location; if a new building provides a brief update on the construction: Current license for Staybridge Suites was established in 2009.  The current owners – Midas Independence – will continue the existing business operation.   

Managing Officer Information and results from background check: The proposed business – Midas Independence, LLC – has appointed James K. Maddox as the Managing Officer for purposes of this liquor license.  The background investigation conducted by the Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Mr. Maddox revealed he meets the requirements of the Alcoholic Beverages code.

The applicant has submitted a signed affidavit indicating that this location will have alcohol sales that meet the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code for this license type.
