| | | | | | | | Emergency Justification:
Staff is seeking approval for replacement of the 1988 Wheel Loader, asset #8605. This equipment is assigned for use by the Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department. The current wheel loader is thirty-eight (38) years old, has a blown head gasket, and weak hydraulic pump. The estimated cost to repair the motor is approximately Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), which does not include the hydraulic pump replacement. Any significant additional maintenance and repair to it would not be a fiscally responsible use of resources.
The purchase order, if approved, will be issued against the Sourcewell Contract #032119-CAT Cooperative bid agreement. The cooperative purchasing provisions of paragraph 5 of the Independence City Code allows for the purchase of items competitively bid by other governmental entities.
Approval of this item authorizes the Finance Director to issue change orders up to a total of ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount, so long as appropriations are available.

Fiscal Impact:
The fiscal impact to the City for this purchase is $167,020.00. Although the replacement of the equipment was not originally budgeted to mobile equipment 7012-5404, sufficient funding is available. Funding for this purchase is available for transfer from the other improvements expense line item 7012-5406.
