|
| | | | | | | | Agenda Title:
Council action is requested to issue a contract extension for intra-city transit services with First Transit for the Community Development Department. |
| | | | | | | | Recommendations:
Staff recommends approval. |
| | | | | | | | Executive Summary:
The City seeks to exercise a 1 year option with First Transit to continue operations of the intra-city transit services. |
| | | | | | | | Background:
On February 6, 2017, the City Council approved entering into an agreement with First Transit to operate transit services for the 5-year period beginning on July 1, 2017 and ending on June 30, 2022. As part of the agreement, the initial term can be extended in one-year terms up to a maximum of two (2) years under the same terms and conditions under the agreement.
The seventh-year cost (i.e., $1,801,876) is approximately a 6.5% increase over the FY 2022-23 anticipated cost for IndeBus. This cost increase is in line with annual increases (anywhere from 3.5% to 7% annual increases) over the term of the 5-year agreement. The increase is due to rising costs associated to increased wages and facility costs. |
| | | | | | | |
Fiscal Impact:
The City’s Community Development FY 22-23 budget includes $1,327,558 in Cost Center 4414 Account 5226 for transportation services. In addition, revenues from the Centerpoint TIF Special Allocation Fund, the State of Missouri transit operations assistance funds, transit CARES funds, and FTA Federal Formula funds offset the cost.
