Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to Olathe Ford for $157,932.00 for the purchase of two (2) F150 small dump trucks for the Sewer Maintenance Collections and Stormwater Divisions of the Municipal Services Department.

Council approval to issue a purchase order.

This request is for two F450 small dump trucks to serve as fleet replacements. One is for the Municipal Services Collection Systems Division & one is for the Stormwater Division. These replacement trucks were approved in the budget for this fiscal year.

These are being purchased using the Mid-America Council of Public Procurement contract administered by Mid-America Regional Council for the 2022 model year and each includes a Knapheide dump body. These trucks will have a life cycle of 10-12 years of service.

The dealer providing these is Olathe Ford, who as mentioned previously, provided a quote based on a Mid-America Council of Public Procurement (MACPP) cooperative contract.

Per section 8.06.004, Paragraph 4 of the City Code states competitive bidding is not required when purchases are made through a cooperative contract established by a government purchasing entity or cooperative. The cooperative bids used will have been established pursuant to RSMo. 70.220 or generally accepted governmental purchasing practices through the competitive bidding process.

Approval of this item authorizes change orders up to ten (10) percent of the original authorized amount, providing appropriations are available.

The fiscal impact to the City is $157,932.00. Funding is included in the 2022/2023 adopted budget, pages 131 & 133, project account number of E (396107 -S - - ) 7 Year Heavy Duty Mobile Equipment, account number E (5230-5404) Mobile Equipment.
