Agenda Title:

Council action is requested to issue a purchase order to Kansas City Renovations for $49,275.00 for the Rock Creek Control Room Remodel Project for the Municipal Services Department.

Recommendations:

Council approval to issue a purchase order.

Background:

This project has been budgeted for this fiscal year. It is a remodel replacing partition walls with permanent walls, updated LED lighting fixtures, ceiling grid & tile. This facility has had a lot of data and wiring projects over time which has removed a large percentage of the ceiling tiling. Some oversized doors will also be replaced with regular 36” x 7’ entry doors into the offices.

The project was bid on the e-procurement website, Public Purchase, that the city uses for solicitations. Invitation to Bid # 22109-A closed on February 17, 2023, with 343 firms being notified and 11 firms downloaded the invitation to bid.

The Municipal Services Department is recommending this contract be awarded to Kansas City Renovations. Kansas City Renovations is an Independence company as well as being the lowest, qualified bidder.




Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $49,275.00. Funding is included in the 2022/2023 adopted budget, page 129, project account number E (371125-S - - ) 25 Year Structural Improvements, account number E (5215-5401) Buildings.
