Agenda Title:

Acceptance of donated equipment from Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).
Recommendations:

The Police Department respectfully request acceptance of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal suit.
Executive Summary:

The Homeland Security and Emergency Services Program at the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) coordinate regional planning efforts for the Greater Kansas City area, including the City of Independence, Missouri.  MARC administers a number of grants that provide training and equipment to emergency personnel.

 

The donated equipment represents a saving of $18,949.44 to the City of Independence, Police Department for the equipment.

Background:

Funding for the Homeland Security programs is through the Urban Area Security Initiative Grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.  MARC administers and distributes the donations that support regional preparedness efforts.  

Fiscal Impact:

This donation will save the City of Independence, Police Department will save $18,949.44 with this donation.
