Approval of this item will enter the City into a design services contract with Olsson Associates as part of the Rockwood Storm Drainage Improvements Project (No. 132202). |
| | | | | | | | Background:
The Rockwood Storm Drainage Project extends from Rock Creek near Northern Avenue upstream to 28th St Terrace within the Rock Creek Watershed. This project will address the frequent and severe flooding of homes along the stream.
Olsson Engineers were selected based on their qualifications; and after negotiations of a scope and fee, they developed a Preliminary Engineering Study (PES) to evaluate alternatives that would mitigate the drainage problems. The PES scope of work included: site investigations, contacting utilities, alternative evaluations, construction estimates, public meeting, and development of a summary report. They also prepared documentation for the ARPA Grant, and we received an award of $2,076,554.
Following the completion of the PES, Olsson Engineers have now been invited to submit a proposal for the design of the selected alternate. This design proposal includes surveys, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, construction plans, utility coordination, public meeting, easements preparations, and the development of bid documents. |

Fiscal Impact:
The fiscal impact to the City is $194,788. Funding for the Rockwood Storm Drainage Improvement Project (No. 132202) is included in the FY 22 adopted budget, page number 138, account number 7013-5406. This project will receive $2,076,554 in ARPA funds.
