1. Council action is requested on the application received from G&A Commercial LLC dba Mygrain Liquorfor a Retail Selling of Intoxicating Liquor of all kinds in the original package license for Mygrain Liquor that will be located at 1431 S. Noland Rd.

This application meets the requirements of the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code. 

The applicant is requesting City Council approval for Retail Selling of Intoxicating Liquor of all kinds in the original package Monday through Sunday 10:00 am – 10:00 pm.  The applicant has also requested a Sunday Sales License.  This license will be issued administratively should the City Council approve this license.  G&A Commercial LLC has purchased the property located at 1431 S. Noland Rd. Mygrain Liquors currently operates out of 1324 S. Noland Rd. The plan is to close at this location and move Mygrain Liquors to 1431 S. Noland Rd.  The applicant has indicated that this location will have alcohol sales that meet the City’s Alcoholic Beverage Code.

History of any liquor license at this location; if a new building, provide a brief update on the construction:  Wonder Hostess Thrift Shop was located at 1431 S. Noland Rd. for many years. In 2018 Flowers Baking Company of Lenexa operated out of this location until 2019. In 2021 Midwest Liquidation Sales opened at this address closing in 2022.  The building has been vacant until G&A Commercial LLC purchased the property in 2023 with the plan of moving Mygrain Liquors from its current location to this address.

There are active liquor licenses within 1000 feet of this location: Player’s Club is to the south and Mygrain Liquor’s current location is within 1000 feet of the new location.  This location’s license would become inactive if the new license is approved.

Managing Officer Information and results from background check: G&A Commercial LLC has indicated Noelhy Ozaeta will serve as the appointed managing officer. The background investigation conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Noelhy Ozaeta revealed she meets the requirements of the Alcoholic Beverages code.
