Background:
The preservation awards program was established in 2001 by the Independence Heritage Commission to honor the challenges of preserving Independence’s historic built environment. The awards were intended to recognize the efforts of individuals, organizations, and projects displaying an exemplary commitment to historic preservation in our community. Despite a delay in award activity over the past few years directly related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Commission is very much in support of the continuation of the program and in recognizing this year's recipient. |
