Agenda Title:

Council action to issue Change Order #1 to Purchase Order 23000818 to Monaco Property Services in the amount of $162,885 to cover additional expenses for Abatement and Dangerous Building Board Ups for the Community Development Department.  New revised amount of PO will be $275,000.00.
Recommendations:

Staff recommends approval to issue the Change Order. 
Background:

In July, 2022, a purchase order was issued to the City’s contractor, Monaco Property Services, who assists the City with abatements on properties with property maintenance violations. Since that time period the scope of services has expanded to include dangerous building board ups. 

Monaco Property Services was awarded a three-year contract approved by Council for Grounds Restoration & Abatement in December, 2021. This request is to add additional funding to enable this service to be continued without a pause from the contractor. Property maintenance abatements and dangerous building board ups increase in volume during the spring, which is another reason for this change order. 

Approval of this item shall authorize change orders up to an additional ten percent of the new total amount of the purchase order, provided appropriations are available.
 


Fiscal Impact:

The fiscal impact to the City is $275,000.00.  Funding was included in the 2022/2023 adopted budget, page 93, account 4411-5226 (Professional Services) for $240,000.  The additional $35,000 for boarding up dangerous buildings come from ARP funds (0614401-5226).
