Council action is requested to issue blanket purchase orders to Monaco Property Services and DuPree Landscaping & Lawn Care in an amount of $275,000 for the 2023-24 Abatement Services for the Community Development Department. 

Monaco Property Services and DuPree Landscaping & Lawn Care currently assists the City with abatements on properties with property maintenance violations and dangerous building board ups.

Monaco Property Services was awarded a contract in December 2021 while DuPree Landscaping & Lawn Care was awarded a contract in March 2023.  This request would enable abatement services to continue without a pause from the contractor.

The Community Development Department needs multiple contractors for these services due to the number of abatements.  These blanket Purchase Orders would allow the Community Development Department to have a purchase order open for both Monaco Property Services and DuPree Landscaping & Lawn Care. 

Approval of this item would authorize change orders up to an additional ten percent of the purchase order amount ($27,500), provided appropriations are available. 

The fiscal impact to the City is $275,000.  Funding for the property maintenance violation abatements was included in the 2023/24 adopted budget, page 82, General Fund 002, account 4411-5226 (Professional Services) for $250,000.  The additional $25,000 for boarding up dangerous buildings come from ARP funds (0614401-5226).
