| | | | | | | | Background:
The Animals Services Division of the Health Department utilizes the contractor because it provides services to clean animal kennels, cages, indoor play areas, and common spaces that are specifically designed to prevent the spread of animal-borne diseases and parasites. Services are provided every day of the year, 365 days per year, regardless of weather conditions. The contractor has provided this service without issue since the City began operation of the shelter in 2019.
The Procurement Division issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) #19046 on May 14, 2019, for Professional Cleaning and Janitorial Services for Animal Shelter Facility. The RFP was published through the Public Purchase e-procurement website, which notified (59) potential respondents; (17) accessed the RFP.
The RFP closed on June 11, 2019. Two (2) responses were received through Majestic Franchising and MC Janitorial. After staff review, Majestic Franchising was the best option for the City and a contract was issued to Majestic dba Jani-King in July, 2019.
Approval of this item authorizes change orders up to ten (10) percent of the authorized amount, providing appropriations are available.

The fiscal impact to the City $85,200.00. Funding for the cleaning of the shelter is included in the fiscal year 2023-24 proposed budget, page 94, account number (4705-5226) Professional Services in Animal Shelter Levy (Fund 005).
